SHARING THE JOY OF CREATING
NIMAYANA is the collaboration of a mother-daughter team working individually and collectively to create beautiful and functional items that delight the eye and feed the spirit.
Leslie Kern has had a passion for textiles since she was young, and enjoys seeking out unique and interesting combinations to be fashioned into functional items. Her hand-crafted handbags, aprons, and more are made from fabrics selected for visual appeal, tactile interest, and practical use.
Megan Knight has created with textiles for over 60 years. Working in collaboration with Leslie, she has reimagined the traditional Christmas stocking using designer fabrics to create a unique holiday decoration. Megan’s beautiful and functional kitchen towels are a perennial favorite, and her unique gift items delight both giver and recipient.
As ardent fans of textiles, we support the work of FabMo. Many NIMAYANA products contain fabrics sourced through FabMo, which are identified on the hang tags. FabMo receives 10% of the proceeds from these items.
NIMAYANA means “I am hungry” in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs and reflects why we are compelled to find unique textiles, and what drives us to create. Our work feeds our spirit – we hope it does the same for you.
